Apple, Inc. is planning to launch a streaming digital radio service of its own that would compete directly with Pandora Radio, of the most popular apps available for download in Apple’s App Store, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing anonymous sources. The service is at least “months” away from being launched, according to the report, which would make it unlikely to be featured at Apple’s upcoming September 12 event, which is widely expected to be the unveiling of the new “iPhone 5.”
