A woman named as one of the prostitutes visited by Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ) in the Dominican Republic denies that she ever met the embattled Senator or worked as a prostitute, according to an interview transcript obtained by Politico.

The Spanish-language media outlet Univision tracked down 21-year old Yaneisi Fernandez, who along with her family denies any involvement in Menendez’s alleged meeting with prostitutes. Fernandez’s mother says her daughter is a college student.

“I’ve never been to Casa de Campo, I’ve never participated in those activities, don’t know those people or that man,” Fernandez said, according to the Univision interview transcript.

Menendez is currently being investigated by the Senate ethics committee for his relationship to Florida doctor Salomon Melgen, with whom Menendez traveled to the Dominican Republic.
