Wisconsin state Rep. Donna Seidel, who is now one of the Democratic candidates in the latest round of state Senate recalls, has a new TV ad tapping into the current political debates on women’s health and economic issues.

Seidel was set to challenge state Sen. Pam Galloway, who picked up the historically Democratic Wausau seat in the 2010 GOP wave. However, Galloway resigned from the legislature, citing family health problems, and thus converting the recall into a special election between Seidel and the new Republican candidate, state Rep. Jerry Petrowski.

The ad features women of various ages, speaking against Petrowski’s votes: “‘I have something to you, Jerry Petrowski.’ ‘I work hard everyday.’ ‘And you think women shouldn’t get paid the same as men,’ ‘for doing the same work.’ ‘And when it comes to my health, Jerry,’ ‘and the lives of my family and friends,’ ‘you slashed funding for breast and cervical cancer screenings,’ ‘and voted against emergency contraception,’ ‘for victims of rape and incest.’ ‘I have something to say to you, Jerry Petrowski.’ ‘Jerry, how could you?’ ‘How could you do that to my daughter?’ ‘How could you do that to my mother?’ ‘How could you do that to us?’ ‘Jerry, we expected more from you.'”
