Google executives briefly demonstrated a new type of personalized search engine called “Google Now,” at the company’s developer conference on Wednesday, but now the service has gotten its own preview website showing off its capabilites in an included video ad

The basic concept of Google Now is to provide predictive search results and realtime updates through a user’s Android smartphone based on his or her’s location and preferences. For example, when a user leaves their home, they’ll get a traffic report and alternate directions on their phone. Sports fans will also get realtime score updates for their favorite teams. The information appears as notifications at the bottom of a user’s Android smartphone screen automatically, without requiring the user to actually type in any search whatsoever.

Right now, Google Now is limited to the newest version of Android, 4.1, or Jelly Bean, which Google unveiled on Wednesday.
