The Washington Post is standing by its story Tuesday that a woman in the Dominican Republic was paid to claim that Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) had paid her for sex, Politico reported. The Daily Caller, which interviewed the woman in 2012 and reported the allegations against Menendez, on Tuesday accused the Post of not reaching out to them and said that the paper had interviewed a different woman than the one they originally spoke to.
The Post’s story indicated that Daily Caller Editor Tucker Carlson did not respond to phone calls and emails requesting comment. Washington Post spokesperson Kris Coratti told Politico, “We stand by that and our reporting.”
