Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s campaign announced Tuesday that it raised over $5 million between April 24 and May 21, in the run-up to the Wisconsin recall election.
The money came from a total of 54,112 contributions, including 39,813 contributions of $50 or less.
“More than 73 percent of our contributions were for $50 or less, showing that as the election draws closer, Governor Walker’s grassroots support is as strong as ever,” said communications director Ciara Matthews, in a statement.
The election will be held June 5.
