Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) will vote against beginning debate on the so-called Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform bill that includes a path to citizenship in the Senate Tuesday.

“A bill with a $6.3 trillion price tag that completely walks away from border security is not ready for serious discussion or consideration,” Vitter said in a statement. “With so many dangerous flaws, I’ll be opposing the motion to proceed.”

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said earlier Tuesday that while the bill contains “major flaws,” he would not vote to block the bill from debate.
