The Virginia state Senate on Tuesday approved a contentious ultrasound bill. The Senate voted 21-19 to approve a law that would require abdominal ultrasounds. Earlier, the bill included language that required a transvaginal ultrasound, but the bill was amended. The legislation now goes to Gov. Bob McDonnell’s desk for his signature.
