Sprint has confirmed to The Verge on Friday that it will carry BlackBerry 10 devices at an unspecified time “later this year,” following the new operating system’s release scheduled for January 30. That puts BlackBerry 10 back on all four major U.S. carriers: AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile, Sprint’s rivals, confirmed earlier this week that they would carry BlackBerry 10 devices as well.

The news is great for Research In Motion, the Waterloo, Ontario-based company that makes the popular BlackBerry line of devices, and is looking at BlackBerry 10 as a kind of “Hail Mary” option to regain massive losses in the smartphone business as customers have in recent years ditched their BlackBerrys for Apple iPhones and smartphones running Google’s Android.
