Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell (R) is rethinking his unconditional support for Virginia’s proposed bill mandating a transvaginal ultrasound before a woman can get an abortion. According to the Washington Post, members of the House of Delegates and staffers for the Governor were reportedly meeting on Tuesday night to consider a compromise on the bill. A McDonnell spokesman was cagey on the decision: “Our position is: If the General Assembly passes this bill the governor will review it, in its final form, at that time.”
