President Obama was briefed Thursday on the shooting at a community college campus and requested to receive updates throughout the day, according a Reuters report.

Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum said that 13 were dead and more than 20 injured after police responded to an active shooter Thursday at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore.

A White House official said that President Obama had been briefed by his homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco, according to the report.

“At the president’s request, he will continue to receive updates throughout the day,” the official said, as quoted by Reuters.
