The United Arab Emirates have withdrawn their ambassador to Iran after a controversial visit by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the island of Abu Mousa. The Island is currently one of three Emirate islands controlled by Iran but claimed by the UAE. Ahmadinejad’s trip runs counter to an informal agreement on reducing tensions held by both countries.
