Florida’s two largest counties have stopped purging voters from their rolls after the Justice Department said last week that their actions were likely illegal, CNN reports.

Broward County and Miami-Dade County are not, like five other Florida counties, covered by the Voting Rights Act but still are not supposed to purge voter lists within 90 days of an election. Florida’s primary is held in August, meaning voter list purges should have finished by May 16.
