Two men were arrested on Sunday after they tried to sail across a pond to crash one of Mitt Romney’s fundraisers in the Hamptons, the Los Angeles Times reports:

Romney aides and Perelman staff armed with clipboards, along with local police, tightly controlled access to the circular road leading to the luncheon at Perelman’s estate — a property secluded among the pines off Montauk Highway. But the home is on Georgica Pond, and two men from Wainscott, a town that abuts the pond, saw an opportunity, authorities said.

One of the men was arrested after trying to swim away. The other was arrested in the boat.
