Donald Trump on Wednesday morning finally spoke out about the controversy surrounding Melania Trump’s speech, with a tweet celebrating the amount of attention her remarks received and ignoring the fact that commentary about the speech largely focused on plagiarism.

He also criticized the media for covering the plagiarism in the speech, working in a Hillary Clinton reference.

Melania Trump’s speech lifted significant portions from the speech Michelle Obama delivered at the 2008 Democratic convention, but Trump Campaign Chair Paul Manafort has denied that the speech was partially plagiarized. And other members of Trump’s circle brushed off accusations that the speech used part’s of Michelle Obama’s address.

But Trump himself had remained silent on the reporting about plagiarism in the speech until now, and he still avoided directly addressing the plagiarism itself.
