Donald Trump has awkwardly gone after Hillary Clinton over Bill Clinton’s sex scandals even though his own affair in the 1990s was widely publicized. But the Republican nominee isn’t worried about his marriages coming up during the campaign, telling New Hampshire television station NH1 on Thursday that he has a “very good history.”
When asked by NH1 whether he would bring up Bill Clinton in the second debate, the Republican nominee first explained why he refrained from doing so in the first debate.
“She was very nasty to me. And I was going to do it. And I saw Chelsea sitting out in the audience, and I just didn’t want to go there. I thought it would be too disrespectful,” he said.
And when asked again if he would raise Bill Clinton’s scandals in the next debate, Trump replied, “We’ll see what happens.”
Then NH1 asked Trump if his own marital history would be “fair game.”
“I guess,” he responded. “But it’s a lot different that his. That I can tell you. We have a situation where we have a president who was a disaster and he was ultimately impeached over it, in a sense for lying. And so we’ll see whether or not we discuss it.”
NH1 asked Trump if he was worried about his marital history.
“No, not at all. I have a very good history,” he replied.
