Dutch GPS device company TomTom has issued a statement confirming it is working with Apple on Apple’s new in-house “Maps” application, which will replace Google Maps on the iPhone and iPad beginning in the fall. The statement is typically cryptic:

TomTom (AEX:TOM2) has signed a global agreement with Apple® for maps and related information. No further details of the agreement will be provided
