Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA) said on Monday during an appearance on “Fox & Friends” that he’s not afraid of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) because he’s “a street fighter.”

Marino’s comments came after an incident during Friday night’s House debate over immigration. During the debate, Marino criticized Pelosi’s time as House speaker. That caused Pelosi to scurry across the House floor to rebut the comments.

According to Marino, her actions broke protocol. But he said he was not intimidated.

“I’m a former prosecutor,” he said. “I was a state prosecutor and U.S. attorney. I’ve been threatened by drug dealers and organized crime and murderers. This was a walk in the park.”

Marino said he will not apologize for his comments because he acted like a “gentleman.”

“There are some people in Congress that think they are royalty,” Marino said. “I’m not afraid to speak up. I’m a street fighter. And I’m going to stand up and fight for my constituents.”
