Conservative radio host Todd Starnes said stories like the one of two Christian bakers who have been fighting the state of Oregon since they refused to bake a cake for a lesbian couple are happening all over the country.

“This kind of thing is happening in stores and businesses, mom and pop shops all across the country,” Starnes said. Starnes added that businesses are being told “‘you can either serve god or you can have a business but you can’t do both.'”

Starnes’ comments in his speech at the Values Voter Summit on Saturday came a day after the couple, Aaron and Melissa Klein, appeared on a panel on marriage in America. The couple described how they felt they were in the right to refuse the couple because it was a violation of their “religious freedom.”

Starnes echoes those comments in his speech on Saturday.

“They came under fire simply because they support traditional marriage,” Starnes said.
