Time Warner Cable is dropping Current TV’s channel from its lineup amid its sale to Al Jazeera. “Our agreement with Current has been terminated and we will no longer be carrying the service,” Time Warner Cable said in a statement published by The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday. “We are removing the service as quickly as possible.”

Al Jazeera’s purchase of Current is seen as a move for the Qatar-based news network to expand its reach in the U.S. In a statement Wednesday, Al Jazeera said it would distribute a new U.S.-based channel on Current’s distribution network.
