Those pining for a high quality news program might just be sleeping through one as it airs.

When MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts moves into the 5:30 A.M. ET time slot later this month to serve as host of the aptly named program “Way Too Early,” he said he’ll be taking over “the smartest, most fun political news show on modern day television.” For that reason, Roberts told Mediaite, he doesn’t consider the move a demotion.

MSNBC announced the hosting change on Friday. Roberts will continue to appear regularly on “Morning Joe,” the three-hour political gabfest that follows “Way Too Early.”
