Montana Sen. Jon Tester is out with his seventh ad of the cycle Monday with a new spot touting his relationship with a disabled Afghanistan veteran. The ad features the parents of Marine Lance Cpl. Thomas “Tomy” Parker, who lost both legs and part of his left hand after stepping on an IED, talking about the relationship Tester built with their son while he was in rehabilitation.

From the ad:

Lisa: “Our son, Tomy, was injured by an IED in Afghanistan. Jon Tester reached out, spent time with us.”

Tom: “No reporters. Just Jon making sure Tomy had the care he deserved. Throughout Tomy’s rehab, Jon kept calling — motivating him.”

Lisa: “We know that’s what Montanans do for each other. For Tomy, it’s made a difference. Tomy told Jon, the next time he sees him, they’re going to go for a walk.”

The ad buy is about $60,000 and is running statewide on cable and broadcast, according to a source who tracks ad buys.
