Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn sounded a confident note a few days before his city is set to hold the Republican National Convention and as Tropical Storm Isaac heads toward the Florida coast. “This convention will go off as planned,” he told Fox News’ Megyn Kelly.
If the storm becomes a threat, Tampa officials and the RNC will make a decision about postponing or relocating the convention, Buckhorn said. He emphasized that the city is prepared in the event of severe weather. Below is the National Hurricane Center’s latest storm projection:
