Taliban Frees 15 From Afghan Prison

CBS News reports that the Taliban has freed 15 prisoners from a prison in northern Afghanistan. Taliban fighters blew a hole in a prison in the Sar-e-Pul province, initially allowing 31 inmates to escape, though sixteen escapees were later captured. A 10-minute gun battle followed the breach, in which three inmates reportedly died. Twenty-eight individuals were also wounded.
