The Taliban have claimed responsibility for a blast that destroyed 22 NATO supply trucks near Samangan in northern Afghanistan. Militants targeted the trucks, loaded with fuel and other goods for coalition forces, around 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to Sidiq Azizi, a spokesperson for the province, “There was a big boom. It’s possible that is was a magnetic bomb from insurgents. We are investigating.”
