Via Greg Sargent, pro-Romney super PAC Restore Our Future put together two versions of its latest attack on Newt Gingrich in Iowa. In the first, a 60-second spot, the video attacks Gingrich for his position on a host of issues, including his support for an individual mandate. That version was quickly yanked from YouTube and replaced with a 30-second video which maintained all but the individual mandate attack, which was no where to be found.
Given Romney’s past support for a mandate in Massachusetts, someone in the Romney camp or PAC realized that it was best not to go there.
