Study: Planned Parenthood Got Best Return On Investment In 2012

The Sunlight Foundation released a report Thursday calculating return on investment for outside spending groups in the 2012 election based on what percentage of their spending went to races that ended up with the desired results. Planned Parenthood’s super PAC got the best return. 

  • 98.58% of $5,086,007 spent in the general election and ending in the desired result.
  • Supported 7 winning candidates ; 18.83% of money went to supporting winning candidates.
  • Opposed 7 losing candidates; 79.76% of money went to opposing losing candidates.

The worst performers were the NRA’s super PAC and Karl Rove’s American Crossroads, with .81 percent and 1.29 percent respectively.
