The nascent U.S. Senate campaign for Newark, N.J. Mayor Cory Booker (D) will receive a boost from some Hollywood star power next month.
An A-list crew of producers, directors, actors and studio executives will team up to co-host a $5,000-a-pop fundraiser on April 25 in Beverly Hills, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The fundraiser will be co-hosted by the likes of directors Steven Spielberg, Rob Reiner and J.J. Abrams and actor Bruce Willis.
Booker said earlier this month that he won’t officially launch his Senate bid until after New Jersey’s gubernatorial race this year. The popular mayor did, however, file organizing papers with the Federal Election Commission in January.
