As “The Colbert Report” draws closer to its final episode, host Stephen Colbert is packing the remaining time with nostalgia.
On Thursday night, Colbert interviewed his executive producer and “host of the liberal elitist ‘The Daily Show'” Jon Stewart in a segment of horseplay 14 years in the making.
“Are you gonna nail me?” Stewart asked. “I’ve heard you try to nail people.”
“I’ve been inside the belly of the beast, I used to work for you,” Colbert shot back. “I remember things you said behind closed doors.”
Stewart remained unfazed.
“You know this—behind closed doors, I only quote rabbinical text,” he said. “There is no dark secret, there is no hidden agenda, I am merely an arbiter of biblical law.”
