The State Department is rejecting Republican calls for Susan Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, to resign. Rep. Peter King, according to the Associated Press, said Rice should step down in the wake of the attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland, however, said on Monday that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton believes Rice has done a “superb job” and the department rejects the calls for her resignation.
