Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) has sent an e-mail to her supporter list, launching a “moneybomb” fundraiser in response to the TV ad from Senate candidate and former Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI) — which featured an Asian-American actress speaking in broken English, to “thank” Stabenow for spending and borrowing money from China.

Key quote from the Stabenow e-mail, with emphasis in the original:

Even Republicans called it “appalling” – not only for the ad’s offensiveness, but also for the hypocrisy.

Rep. Hoekstra voted for the $700 billion Wall Street bailout – which Debbie voted against. He voted for the unfunded Bush tax cuts, the war in Iraq, and government handouts for big oil companies – all things Debbie voted against.

For $1 trillion – the cost of the Bush tax cuts – Rep. Hoekstra could have bought nearly 7 MILLION of those ads. That means you’d be stuck watching nothing but Hoekstra’s awful ad on repeat until March 10, 2209!

We can’t let Hoekstra get away with this.
