Doctors at San Francisco General Hospital said in a press conference Sunday that 19 victims of the plane crash still remain in their hospital, including five critically injured adults and one critically injured child. The seriously injured patients that the doctors were able to speak with indicated that they were seating in the back of the plane.

Two teenagers died in the plane crash.

In total, the hospital admitted more than 50 patients–more than any other hospital–34 of whom have already been discharged. The adult victims range in age from 20-76.

Margaret Knudsen, chief of surgery at the hospital, said whoever “triaged the patients did a fabulous job” and prevented many more causalities.

Many of the treated injuries include head traumas, spine fractures, including paralysis, and severe road burns. Knudsen said they were expecting to burn victims, but did not treat any serious burns.

“There are many more surgeries to come soon,” Knudsen said.
