Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA) said that President Obama may want to go over the fiscal cliff and come out the “hero” at the end of the day by cutting middle class taxes after all the Bush tax cuts expire.

“Time to negotiate is now,” Isakson said on MSNBC’s “Daily Rundown” Tuesday. “I’m beginning to believe — I don’t know this, I don’t have any information to believe it — it appears the president would just as soon go off the cliff. Everybody’s taxes go up… and he’ll come back and cut taxes for some people and try and claim himself to be the hero.”

Isakson believes this would lead to another recession.
