The woman who said that she was confused when former Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) gave her a “Hero Award” plaque that read “Women for Scott Brown” seems to have done something of an about-face, telling Breitbart that she wasn’t embarrassed.

Time magazine reported that the woman, Janice Leahy (pictured, left, with Brown), a small businesswoman, was embarrassed when planned to sit down with Brown to discuss Obamacare and was presented with the plaque by Brown. In the interview with Breitbart.com however, Leahy said that she was more confused about why she was being asked about the encounter with Brown, not that she was confused about being given the award.

“It’s ridiculous. Why is this acceptable?” Leahy said in an interview with Breitbart. Most of the Breitbart writeup paraphrases Leahy.

The Breitbart writeup comes a day after Time magazine reported that Leahy met with Brown to discuss Obamacare and ended up taking a picture with him and sending out a press release touting Brown giving Leahy the award as well as his opposition to Obamacare.

Leahy is also directly quoted saying that she was unhappy with Brown for voting against equal pay legislation in 2012.

“I’m not happy about his vote against it and I would need to know more about it before I vote for him,” Leahy said to Time. “I haven’t decided yet which way I’ll vote in November.”

The Breitbart report said that Leahy said she didn’t know anything about the legislation at the time she was being interviewed and would look into it in more detail. Leahy told Breitbart that she felt her words had been “twisted.”

According to Breitbart Leahy also met with Brown’s wife and came away thinking that he would not support legislation that is “anti-woman.”

The TPM Polltracker average gives Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) a 4.3 point lead over Brown.
