Sen. Chuck Schumer told CNN Thursday morning said he is “troubled” by past decisions in which the Supreme Court has ruled in a partisan manner. Schumer also said he is “worried” about Justice Antonin Scalia’s forays into politics.
Schumer said he wants to read the health care decision before making any statements about whether the Supreme Court was politically motivated, but did say there is reason to be worried.
“I’ll say this. I’m troubled about previous decisions in the court, particularly Citizens United and Bush v. Gore being highly political and I’m frankly worried of Justice Scalia’s ventures in to politics way away from the law,” he said.
