Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Monday scolded Daily Caller reporter Neil Munro for interrupting him at a press conference on immigration reform.
“You have to, please let me finish,” Schumer told Munro. The Daily Caller reporter, who caused a similar scene in June 2012 when President Obama announced a new immigration policy, asked Schumer to respond to working-class Americans who are concerned about losing work if more immigrants are allowed to work in the U.S. Munro tried to ask follow-up questions while Schumer answered.
Schumer said that he and his colleagues have a plan. “It’s in our principles that we will tie future flow to employment,” Schumer said. “And if there are jobs that are available for Americans to take, that will be one of the major components of future flow.”
Obama responded to Munro in similar style last year. After Munro interrupted during his statement, Obama told him, “Next time, I prefer you let me finish my statements before you ask that question.”
