Saturn’s Moon Titan Has Mini “Nile”-Like River, NASA Finds

Saturn’s Moon Titan, one of the planet’s larger of at least 62 moons, has a river on its surface that stretches over 200 miles, NASA scientists have found thanks to a new look by the agency’s Cassini unmanned spacecraft. Scientists think the river is made up of liquid hydrocarbons, likely ethane and methane, because it appears to have a smooth, dark surface. It’s the first such large active river system found anywhere outside of Earth. Here’s an image of the river taken by the Cassini spacecraft. Click through for the full-sized version:
