Rick Santorum is addressing supporters in a high school gymnasium in Steubenville, Ohio — to which he is pointing out that not many presidential candidates go there, but that he has chosen as a symbol of one of the forgotten blue-collar towns of middle America. After introducing his extended family and in-laws, Santorum then began to speak of the night’s results.

“This was a big night tonight lots of states. We’re gonna win a few, we’re gonna lose a few,” he said “But as it looks right now we’re gonna get at least a couple of gold medals, and a whole passel full of silver medals. We can add to Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Colorado — now Oklahoma and Tennessee. We have won in the West, the Midwest, and the South, and we’re ready to win across this country.”

He also spoke of how he has been outspent in every state — including Ohio, which he pronounced as currently being “too close to call” to a round of applause.

As of this moment, Santorum has a lead in Ohio of 39%-36% with 30 percent of precincts reporting, but there is also room in the numbers for Mitt Romney to retake the lead.
