Rick Santorum is hitting Mitt Romney hard over a newly surfaced 2009 USA Today op-ed in which Romney suggested Massachusetts use of a health care mandate could be a model for President Obama’s health care bill.
“Now we have him caught on tape,” Santorum said in Westerville, Ohio. “It’s bad enough to be for a government mandated health care system, which he cleary was in Massachusetts but to then say ‘Oh, I never recommended it to the president.’ Now we have two or three instances where he clearly did.”
He added: “We need a president and a nominee we can trust.”
