Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has taken a big lead in the early results in from the Missouri Republican presidential primary — with 20 of precincts percent in, Santorum has a 55 percent majority in the votes counted so far. National GOP frontrunner former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is second with over 28 percent, and Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) has about 12.

The Missouri primary won’t award any delgates, which will be awarded in a state caucus in March. But the results show that Romney still has a lot to do in terms of bringing together the Republican vote — with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich failing to make the ballot, many GOP voters didn’t coalesce around Romney, insted opting for an alternative in Santorum.
