Samantha Power, the U.S. ambassador to the U.N., reminded Twitter users on Thursday that there were more news items worth paying attention to than pop star Justin Bieber’s drunk driving arrest.

Several cable news outlets carried a live feed of Bieber’s brief court appearance in Miami and brought on former child stars throughout the afternoon to analyze his situation. But as Power pointed out, there was also news Thursday about developments in South Sudan, Syria and Iran.
