Salon expects Steve Kornacki, who on Tuesday was tapped to take over the MSNBC weekend morning show “Up” from Chris Hayes, to keep writing for the progressive news site.

Salon Editor in Chief Kerry Lauerman told TPM in an email: “Very much expect Steve to continue writing for Salon — we’ll figure out how much he can do in the next few weeks.”

Hayes took the title of editor-at-large at the Nation after assuming hosting duties at MSNBC. Kornacki is currently a co-host of the MSNBC weekday afternoon program “The Cycle” and a senior writer at Salon.
