The DCCC’s independent expenditure arm is using the Ryan budget in its first TV ad of the cycle to attack Republican Rep. Dan Benishek (MI-01). The ad targets Benishek for voting for the Ryan budget, though it doesn’t mention Ryan by name, which ends Medicare as it stands today and replaces it with a voucher program.
Voiceover: On Medicare, Congressman Benishek’s gone fishing — and he’s got a whopper.
Benishek: “Privatizing Social Security and Medicare is the only way to do it.”
“Phasing out of the Medicare and the Social Security plan.”
Voiceover: Benishek’s voted to essentially end Medicare.
Forcing seniors to pay over six thousand more a year.
