Rush Limbaugh opened his radio show Monday with a long explanation for why he issued his rare public apology to Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown law student he called “a slut” on air. Limbaugh said his apology was “sincere,” but said his biggest failing was adopting the tone of the left.
“This is the mistake I made,” he said. “In fighting them on this issue last week, I became like them.”
Against my own instincts, against my own knowledge, against everything that I know to be right and wrong, I descended to their level when I used those two words to describe Sandra Fluke. That was my error.
