Appearing before a UK judicial inquiry Wednesday, News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch said he doesn’t “believe in using hacking, in using private detectives or whatever, that’s a lazy way of reporters not doing their job.”
Murdoch said, however, that public figures aren’t “entitled to the same privacy as the ordinary man in the street. If we are going to have a transparent society, let’s have everything out there.”
Murdoch is giving a full day of testimony to the Leveson Inquiry in the press culture, ethics and practices. He is likely to appear before the Inquiry tomorrow, too.
