For politicians planning or tempted to run for the presidency in 2016, the to-do list is formidable. Marco Rubio hit back at Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) on Friday for implying the Florida senator hadn’t looked at the new budget deal.

“I knew full well all the details of the important parts that were in it,” Rubio said on “CBS This Morning.” “In fact they had been leaked days in advance, they had been leaked hours in advance.”

Ryan told Rubio Thursday to “read the deal and get back to me,” after the Florida Republican called the bipartisan budget agreement “irresponsible.”

“There was an understanding in this building, including from among our conferees, about what it included. And It had fundamental things we were well aware of,” Rubio told CBS News. “For example, that it broke the budget caps that Congress had imposed on itself just two years ago and actually will increase the amount of money he have to borrow. It had elements in there that, for example, will make it easier now for Democrats to come back to Congress and raise taxes … Those two reasons alone are reasons to oppose this.”
