Florida Sen. Marco Rubio will deliver a “major” address on the future of foreign policy at the Brookings Institute on Wednesday.

With ongoing debate in Washington and the media about America’s role in the international order, Senator Rubio, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, will examine whether U.S. global leadership is sustainable and even necessary in the 21st century. The Senator will explore what Americans need to do at this juncture, abroad and at home, to adapt and prepare for the changing international environment in the years ahead.
Rubio is considered a top contender to be Mitt Romney’s running mate, though he is currently refusing to comment on the speculation.
