Karl Rove isn’t holding a grudge against the Tea Party Patriots after the group sent out a fundraising email with a manipulated photo of the GOP operative wearing an SS uniform, but he is suprised the message made it out of the gate.

“Well, look, somebody sent out a fundraising email with a picture of me as Heinrich Himmler, the SS chief, and I don’t know how that — what adult supervision was needed there, but they apologized, I accept that,” Rove said Wednesday on Fox News’ “Hannity.” “Let’s get back to trying to get the most conservatives we can elected to office and turn back the Obama agenda. You know, it’s a little amazing that somebody would be so loose that they would send out something as offensive as that. But you know what, I’ve got a thick skin, and I’m not going to worry about it.”

The tea party group apologized to Rove, saying the email was a mistake that the organization “did not know about or approve.”
