Former Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) endorsed Rep. Paul Broun’s (R-GA) Senate campaign Thursday, the Washington Post reported. Incumbent Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) is not seeking re-election.
“Paul Broun and I worked together in the House to bring some necessary oversight to the Federal Reserve,” Paul said in a statement provided by the Broun campaign. “I endorse Paul Broun on his candidacy to the U.S. Senate.”
Broun, a conservative Republican, was the first to announce his candidacy but will likely face several challengers in the primary.
