Ron Barber Speaks About Tuscon, AZ Shooting

Rep. Ron Barber (D-AZ), former chief of staff to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-CA), spoke about the deadly 2011 shooting in Tuscon, Arizona at a House Democratic press conference on gun control Wednesday.

“In 45 seconds, 30 bullets were discharged from one clip. Forty-five seconds, 19 people were down,” Barber told reporters.

Barber called for the ban of assault weapons and high capacity magazines in the U.S., as well as additional focus on bolstering mental health programs.
